FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
My favorite books to read the kids are the very same ones I loved as a child: Sylvester and The Magic Pebble and Miss Rumphius top the list—the stories are sweet and timeless and they are a joy to look at. Sadly, my kids prefer the Froggy series and Star Wars books, both of which make me want to stab my eyes out.
*Editor’s Note * Jill has her own book coming out next month, in April; Confessions of A Scary Mommy (Simon & Schuster) and we’ll be giving away a copy this Friday, March 9! Stay tuned for details.

HOW DO YOU COMBINE WORK AND FAMILY?
Schedule? Snort. Don’t really have one of those. I try to be off-line and free when the kids get home from school until after dinner. Sometimes, though, I have to hide in the bathroom for a conference call. In a perfect world, our family would all sit down for a meal together at six on the dot, but that rarely happens with crazy schedules and work meetings. I try and concentrate on the sweet, stolen moments throughout the day instead.
WHAT IS YOUR WORST PARENTING MOMENT?
Just one? It’s many moments, but they’re all the same—it’s those moments when I’m stressed out or preoccupied and snap at the kids for something harmless like asking for help reaching something or a snack. They happen more often than I’d like to admit.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST PARENTING MOMENT?
Each and every morning. We get to start the day from scratch, no matter how hard the day may have been before. I love the first few moments when the kids wake up and are still all cuddly and groggy.
